Andy graduated from The University of Nottingham before enjoying two years in small animal general practice. He subsequently undertook a small animal rotating internship and medical oncology residency at the Royal Veterinary College. He gained his Diploma in Small Animal Oncology and now works as a Lecturer in Veterinary Oncology.
Clinically, Andy has a particular interest in canine mast cell tumours, in addition to novel diagnostic and staging methods to optimise outcomes in veterinary cancer patients. He introduced sentinel lymph node mapping techniques into the routine diagnostic approach to many cancer patients at the QMHA to increase the detection of metastatic disease.
Andy contributes to the wider veterinary profession by providing oncology CPD, and has spoken at national and international conferences.
