The RCVS has announced the names of this year's candidates for Council. 

There are 10 candidates standing for the three available elected places on RCVS Council. 

The candidates are:

  • Professor David Barrett FRCVS (University of Bristol)
  • Linda Belton MRCVS (First opinion equine practitioner and Director, The George Vet Group)
  • Dr Martin Chamberlain MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, JVP & Lead Vet, Vets4Pets)
  • Daniel Doherty MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, Owner, MyVet24-7)
  • James Gartside MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, Partner, Tay Valley Vets)
  • Steven Howard MRCVS (Head of Clinical Services, PDSA)
  • Tim Hutchinson MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, Partner, Larkmead Veterinary Group)
  • Dr Alice McLeish MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, Forest Veterinary Clinic)
  • Professor Chris Proudman FRCVS (Vet Schools Council Nominee, University of Surrey)
  • Dr Peter Robinson MRCVS (First opinion practitioner, Locum)

Ahead of the start of the election in mid-March, the RCVS is asking veterinary surgeons to email questions for candidates to: vetvote23@rcvs.org.uk in order to better understand them and their views.

You have until Friday 24 February 2023 to submit your question.

The voting period for RCVS Council opens on Monday 13th March and closes at 5pm on Friday 21 April 2023.
