Two new senior appointments have been made by Pfizer Animal Health in its UK and Ireland pig and poultry business unit, with Alan Doyle becoming director and James Walton key account manager.
Mr Doyle qualified as a veterinary surgeon at Glasgow University Veterinary School and spent three years with private practices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.
He has worked for SmithKline Beecham and then Pfizer since 1991 initially in veterinary advisory roles, becoming national veterinary sales manager, sales director for companion animals and most recently division director for Ireland.
Mr Walton first worked for Pfizer in medical sales, moving to the animal health sector in 1997 with Smith & Nephew and for the past two years with Janssen. He joined Pfizer in January initially as territory manager for the North West and Northern Ireland.
During the summer Pfizer strengthened its pig and poultry team with the appointment of veterinary surgeon David Roberts as veterinary relations manager and Freddie French as one of the two key account managers. Earlier Emmeline Randall joined the team as product manager; she has six years’ experience in project and product manager roles in the animal health sector, joining Pfizer in 2004.
