BEVA has launched a collection of resources for vets about equine infectious diseases.

The new resources include:

  • A tool to check endemic and exotic infectious differentials for various presenting signs
  • Clinical pathway tools for cases presenting with ataxia, nasal discharge, and with more to follow
  • Equine Herpes Virus consensus building tool
  • Biosecurity management and preparedness infographics for horse owners
  • Vaccination position statements and list of those available in the UK
  • Flu vaccine reckoner table of the various vaccine manufacturers and competition bodies.

Celia Marr, chair of BEVA’s infectious disease working group, said: “Equine disease prevention and management are fundamental for responsible equine health, welfare and performance.

“These resources cover the need-to-know information and are all in one easy reverence location on the newly designed infection control page on the BEVA website.”
