Vets Now has published a response to the RCVS DC ruling in which Munhuwepasi Chikosi, a locum working for the company, was struck off for delaying an emergency OOH home visit.

Very valid points raised by Vets now. I hope they have the will to persue the RCVS and DC on this matter and force them to address the issues properly, not just waffle . the credibility of the DC is now in tatters and the RCVS has had credibility issues for some time now. waiting for a meeting 'sometime in September' to discuss this issue is inadequate.
It disturbs me that they don't
, as far as I can see, speak in defence or support of Mr C. After all they employed him.
They do defend him, they write about his actions positively and say that many other vets would do the same in the same circumstances. It was probably his attitude towards the case that counted against him, communication with the owners etc, and he hasn't helped himself by ignoring the investigation, but this is not apparent in the judgement, and is instead very alarming for all other vets, day or night. If we take 90 minutes to reach a patient on a home visit, because we are trying to ensure the standard of care for patients already at the clinic or that may arrive at any time, we risk being struck off? If we try and give advice about moving a patient to the clinc that the RCVS deems inappropriate, we risk being struck off? It has massive repercussions and needs clarification NOW!
I wonder what the VDS say about this.
Following on from the decison reached - are we in breach of the regulations should we employ the services of an independant veterinary ambulance to transfer an injured animalto the surgery?
