The Daily Mail has today published an interview with the 'nurse' who worked undercover at Medivet for tonight's Panorama documentary: It shouldn't happen at a vets (tonight, BBC1 9pm).
Looks like the communications departments at the RCVS, BVA and BSAVA will be run off their feet today. So far, the following radio stations and newspapers have run stories:
BBC Online has published a longer trailer for the programme here.BBC Radio 4 Today - interview with the mole, followed by Sandy Trees (in the recording of the entire programme, it starts at 1:09:05 on the iPlayer timeline)BBC Radio 5 live - interview with Jacquie Molyneux (not available on iPlayer)BBC Radio Tees - 7:50am interview with Bill Reilly (BVA)BBC Radio Somerset - 8:00am interview with Bill Reilly (BVA)BBC Radio Shropshire - 8:40am interview with Bill Reilly (BVA)Aberdeen Press & JournalBBC TwitterChina News (in Chinese)BBC Radio 2 - Jeremy Vine interviews Steve Leonard (starts at 1:10:56 on the iPlayer timeline. Continues through at least a couple of songs. At one point, Jeremy Vine says there are lots of reports coming into the show of good vets too!).dogmagazine.netThe Guardian (TV Review)
I'll be updating the list of news reports over the course of the day.

Incidentally, in case anyone is asked for an interview, BVA has produced an advice sheet on the subject for its members, plus a briefing document. The association has also published a response to the Daily Mail story on its website.
PS: Whilst you're here, take a moment to see our latest job opportunities for vets.
I am interested to see that the Aberdeen P&J are involved, seeing as it was my local paper when I was growing up.
A bit of a different story for them seeing as most of their journalism revolves around low-key local issues and how bad Aberdeen Football Club is! To be fair to them at least they have given the profession some positive publicity in this article.
Just to make people aware that the rights 4 pets at vets campaign mentioned on BBC somerset is an updated name for Justice 4 Ted (facebook) mentioned on previous threads in the forum.
I had a look at the Justice 4 Ted website the other day and there are a lot of very bitter comments on there about vets, most of which seem to stem from people either expecting the unexpected or just not having communicated properly with their vet. I have read the ins and outs of Ted's case, but you can't really come to any conclusions as you have not heard both sides of the story, which is the same for nearly all the cases mentioned on the site.
Rob: having grown up just outside "Furry Boots" city I too was amused the good old P+J have got hold,of the story. My mum's sending me a clipping as I type :-)
have to say, Arlo, that was a sterling effort. Pity most of the sites were blocked by my employer's firewall... interesting that it allowed the daily mail but blocked the Labradoodle forum...
actually, I'm intrigued that Arlo FOLLOWS the Labradoodle forum!!
Not sure I can see Arlo with a labradoodle, but then again...
Uh? I don't follow the Labradoodle forum. I was just out there looking to see what people are saying elsewhere on the Internet. If I was to get anything, it would have to be a nice atopic terrier, David!
