Very sad. Soon, at least where small animal work is concerned, we will have CVS doing all the daytime work, and Vets Now doing all OOH. The INDEPENDANT veterinary surgeon will become a thing of the past, and we will lose our status as a self-governing profession, because these monster conglomerates will be too powerful for RCVS to challenge.

They won't need to challenge the RCVS, because as soon as we allow anything approaching a lay majority on the RCVS they'll be running that as well!
however - in each of those sad surgeries there are normal independent vets and nurses doing the work.
