Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
Job Description
Up to £70,000 DOE, Relocation Allowance up to £5,000
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at White Cross Vets, Eccleshill. A full time Veterinary Surgeon will work 40 hours over 4 days, with a share of Saturdays, with TOIL back, however we are also looking forward to hearing back from those that are looking for a more flexible or part time hours. There is no out of hours required for this role.
Eccleshill practice is in a great location, easily accessible by public transport (there's even a bus stop right outside the practice!). There's lots of shops in the local area for you to grab lunch at, including a particularly good fish and chip shop and a lovely small cafe serving warm sandwiches.
A typical day for our Vets starts with an hour of consults, followed by operating until 3pm. After that there is an afternoon surgery with plenty of breaks in-between appointments to allow you to catch up with clients, tend to inpatients or grab a cup of tea! We have 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 1 Student Nurse along with a team of Receptionists. We work closely with a Roving Surgical Vet whose currently studying towards a certificate in Small Animal Surgery as well as a Peripatetic WX Scanning Team which consists of three certificate holders in Diagnostic Imagine - plenty of people to learn from! We are also open to discussing any CPD you would like to complete or if you're currently working towards one!
Our practice has a Dental x-ray, main x-ray, new ultrasound machine, in-house laboratory, in-house Sedivue for urine analysis and we're currently completing our ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status.
We promote an open dialogue and focus on supporting each other at work. Every decision related to the practice is made after consulting the team and getting feedback from everyone involved.
During our wellbeing afternoons we built lanterns, made terrariums, painted portraits of each other and made Valentine’s card to tell our colleagues how much we appreciate them. We also had Santa Claus visiting the practice as a Christmas special. We regularly organise meals out, last year we went axe throwing together.
Don't just take it from us...
'As a current employee and one who has worked for the practice for over two years I feel very lucky to have my role here. The ongoing and unconditional support is better than any I have received elsewhere. The team have a great relationship and happy to help each other in times of need. I honestly could not imagine working anywhere else!'
