Job Description

Based in the beautiful North East Coastal town of Seaham, we are an award winning Independent SA practice where change for the better is welcomed!

Want to train in / undertake keyhole surgery? Interested in internal medicine / exotics?

Due to one of our vets going back home, we are in need of a full time veterinary surgeon to fill their shoes!  This position would suit a new grad, as our Lead vet is a Surgical Certificate holder and is keen on mentoring the right candidate.  Our practice can also support VISA applications and VetGDP training.  We would also consider someone a year or more qualified, with limited experience and who wants to progress.

40hrs a week over 4 days (8.30am to 6.30pm), inc paid designated breaks.

1:3 Saturday mornings (8.30am till 12am) on a rota basis (consults only - with time back in lieu the following week).

New Grad starting at £37k

RCVS / VDS fees paid

CPD allowance £1500, plus 4 days

No OOH

No On Call

No Bank Holiday Working

Single Site - no travelling from branch to branch allowing for client / case continuity.

One to One support in surgery where required.

Opportunity to undertake Laparoscopic surgery.

Opportunity to pursue areas of interest (as we will support & fund relevant certificates).

Relocation package of £2K available (for non agency applicants).

Visa Sponsorship Licence in place.

We are a busy first opinion practice, who appreciate and value our employees.   Based at one site (so no traveling from branch to branch), allowing for client continuity.  We have - Laparoscopic surgery, digital imaging facilities (including dental X ray), ultrasound, endoscope, diathermy, ECG & BP Monitoring, dental equipment, tonometry, in house Idexx lab suite, and are in the process of expanding practice facilities, with completion due in 2025.  These new facilities include separate waiting rooms, 4th Consultation Room (perfect for cat consults), second sterile theatre and extended Dog and cat in-patient wards.
