About us

Buchananvets is a friendly, independent, dedicated small animal practice in south Manchester. One branch is based in Timperley and the other in Baguley. To help us continue providing the best possible care, we are looking for a fifth vet to join our amazing, supportive team due to one of our vets going to travel the world! We are an RCVS practice standards GP practice and a nurse training practice. We would like our new vet to have a few years of experience behind them if possible and we support interests in surgery or medicine.

We have wonderful, loyal clients—many of them have been with us for multiple generations. We have multiple visiting specialists come into the practice, so you get to follow your cases through from start to finish.

We are passionate about continually developing our skills to offer a wide range of medical and surgical services. We really enjoy working together, sharing our knowledge and skills while encouraging each other to explore and develop their interests. We have bi-monthly vet meetings and regular practice meetings over a meal as we review protocols and share ideas on improving clinical standards. We also conduct regular audits to ensure all the measures we put in place to keep and develop our excellent clinical standards are making a difference.

Our full-time vets work a 4-day week, with 1:4 Saturdays. We are flexible with the rota, so if you are looking for part-time hours or have other commitments to work around, we are happy to chat about the options available. We all share the consulting and operating shifts, so there is ample opportunity to hone your skills with the team's support.  Our standard appointments are 15 minutes, with breaks to catch up on admin or make phone calls throughout the day.

We have a fantastic nursing team of 4 RVNs, 4 SVNs and 1 ACA, who bring a wide range of interests, knowledge, and skills to the team.

We are offering.

• A salary of Salary of £45k - £55k depending on experience.
•  A performance related bonus will be paid on a monthly basis after 3 months in our employment.
• 5 weeks annual leave, plus all the bank holidays
