This veterinary receptionist's main role is to greet our clients and manage their visits to make it as pleasant as possible. The receptionist's role is also to perform a variety of administrative tasks and provide customer care. Some of their responsibilities include:
Client care. Scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, and sending reminders. Preparing and maintaining client records, including noting concerns to be addressed by the veterinarian. Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and communicating with clients about their pet's health. Collecting payments for services and medication. Monitoring inventory and assisting with purchasing medical supplies. Keeping the reception area, waiting room, and client bathroom clean and organized, as well as helping rest of team. (Separate cleaners come at night but this is for minor happenings during the day).
Providing basic client education and literature about their pet's medical condition
Handling client complaints and escalating them to the appropriate person if necessary. Assisting with patient care, such as feeding and holding patients.
Other tasks: Accepting mail and other deliveries, ordering office supplies, and preparing examination rooms.
