This is a radiograph, pre-extraction, of a 10 yo Border Terrier with the most extensive and profound peridontal disease. He also suffers from intermittent seizures/syncope, though owner has declined investigation. Biochem and Haem unremarkable. During extraction large pieces of bone crumbled and were removed with the extracted teeth, the nasal passages completely exposed. After irrigation gingiva closed w monocryl, dog blowing bubbles through one nostril but otherwise recovered well. 

Question: can infection do this, or more likely neoplastic?
