We have all the toys and lovely equipment with a new CT scanner now in place to help expand our diagnostic capabilities.

There is a nice mix between hospital and small branch work, with a generally lovely client base, many of whom are interested in detailed case work ups.

Parkside certainly encourage CPD, and the large number of certificate holders within the team means more of our patients are treated in-house rather than referred, which has made for great learning opportunities. We are open to working a 4 day week and are flexible with regard to the days involved, as a larger practice we can also try to accommodate individual preferences such as increased surgical or consulting times.

Dowding vets in Lincolnshire are recruiting for vet to join our busy and vibrant team.

We are a 100% small animal practice with a team of 10 vets with the support of our fantastic team of 12 nurses.

Donnachie and Townley Veterinary Centre is a group of two small animal practices, which have serviced the veterinary needs of companion animals in Rugeley and the surrounding area for over three decades.

Both of our premises are accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in both Core Standards and Tier 2 Small Animal General Practice. Your role and responsibilities

Your day-to-day role at D&T Vets would include 1 day of surgery, 1 day of consultations and 2 days of a mixture of both. If you do have a surgical bias, or prefer consultations, we would be open to tailoring the frequency of surgery with your role, to match your preference.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties. We may be able to support a surgeon with more advanced procedures if you feel comfortable with all routine primary care duties. We are an experienced 6 Veterinary Surgeon team supported by a dedicated nurse and front of house team. One of our Vets are working towards a certificate in and dermatology. Due to the continuing growth of our Veterinary Clinic, we are looking for an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join our expanding team.

What is the practice like?

Mid Sussex Veterinary is a small animal RCVS accredited practice, we are very fortunate to be based in the lovely village of Wivelsfield, very close to Haywards Heath which has great transport links and local amenities. We are only a 15-minute drive from the beautiful South Downs and a 25-minute drive to Brighton. We have a friendly loyal client base, many of which have been bringing their pets to us since we first opened!

We maintain a relaxed, very friendly, and supportive environment. We value our team, which includes Marie Clinical Director, a Head Nurse, 5 Vets, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 2 receptionists, all supported by our practice manager Wendy.

Marie has over 20 years’ experience and has a special interest in endoscopy, keyhole and soft tissue surgery, as well as feline geriatric medicine. We have been offering laparoscopic spays for many years now, not only for our own patients but from others around the county. We encourage all of our vets to learn laparoscopic spays and we will be happy to set time aside so you can learn if needed.

All of our vets - whether recent grad or 30 years qualified - receive support tailored to their needs, along with a fantastic package of benefits. Penmellyn Equine is looking for an experienced equine vet (At least 2 years graduated) to join our expanding equine team. The role involves both ambulatory and hospital-based work on a 1st opinion and sometimes referral basis. Full support will be given by an experienced internal medicine certificate holder and another experienced vet working towards a dentistry certificate. All equine vets currently work a 4-day week with a fixed day off. Out-of-hours is shared with a local practice meaning we have a lovely 1 in 7 OOH rota enabling us to enjoy the gorgeous Cornwall countryside and coast.

We have full inpatient and hospital facilities including 8 stables in an American barn including a dedicated colic/foal stable with CCTV. Separate isolation stable away from the main stables. 2 paddocks, hard and soft lounge areas with a large concrete yard to allow lameness workups. Stocks room, consult room, separate diagnostics room, knock down and full theatre facilities. We have a portable x-ray, as well as ceiling-mounted equipment, portable ultrasound, gastroscope and endoscope, and 3 power floats for dentistry and gait analysis. The vet team is supported by our amazing nurse, admin and groom team who are all equine only. We are a small, tight-knit team who work hard, but are relaxed and easygoing and also love to socialise outside of work, going for dog walks, theatre trips, dinners, and afternoon tea, to name but a few we've done recently. The practice is based in mid-Cornwall, close to beautiful beaches and countryside, with the airport and train stations less than a 10-minute drive away.

About the Team and Culture

We currently have 4 vets, but we are hoping to employ an experienced vet and a new graduate taking our numbers up to 6. We have 3 equine nurses making 1 FTE, 2 admins and 2 grooms. We have 1 internal medicine certificate holder and another vet working towards their dentistry certificate. There is an equine surgeon who comes down monthly to do the procedures we can't, but also to upskill us so we can do these ourselves in the future. Any vet that joins the team we be able to develop their interests and we fully support working towards certificates.

Are you the Perfect Fit?

The preferred candidate will be at least 2 years qualified, MRCVS and able to work in the UK. They will be hard working but also able to kick back and enjoy a natter and a laugh in the equine office. We have our own dedicated 'kitchen' and snack drawer in equine and a hot/cold drink, and a chat are very important to us.

My name is Bleddyn Hobbs, I am a clinical Director here at Maes Glas Vets and I have been given the challenging task of writing this job advert. I must admit, that in the hope of inspiration I sat down and searched current job adverts, finding them to be vague, the roles seeming daunting and full of the usual wording – you would swear digital radiography was a recent introduction, given that every advert seems to go on about it! I then realised, we have a fantastic team of Vets, Nurses, and admin staff and so, rather than do what everyone else seems to have done, I have written this advert along with the help of our amazing team.

The Team

We are an energetic, social group of people from all walks of life. Surfers, hikers, footballers, rugby players, ice hockey supporters, kayakers, and sour dough afficionados to name a few.

Our practice includes a 32-vet team, including Advanced Practitioners in small animal medicine, cardiology and surgery, allowing us to not only diagnose and treat the majority of our cases in-house, without the need for referral, but also provide support to other team members in their career progression. Despite having a range of complexities, I've always been reassured I can get second opinions and guidance towards diagnostics and management. This support also extends on a personal level too, noticing all members of the team go out their way to ensure I'm managing okay and helping out where they can. I look forward to my regular surgical days, initially I was quickly helped to be confident with routine procedures, although now I am actively encouraged to further my skillset.”

Yourself and The Role

I remember what it was like to leave University, it feels like yesterday, and I still recognise that although I graduated with day one competencies, it took time for me to develop the confidence in these abilities.

At Maes Glas we are able to structure your learning to include developing consulting, diagnostic and surgical skills with the correct support network, including your own VetGDP adviser and a buddy (a recent graduate for day-to-day support). You will be allocated protected time with your GDP adviser to discuss medical and surgical cases as well as them then assisting you with practical skills when needed.

You will be enrolled onto the Vet Partner Graduate Development Programme, which involves on average 1 day of CPD per month with fellow new graduates from other practices across the UK.

With our surgical caseload, we can arrange for you to scrub in as a surgical assistant on procedures prior to performing them under supervision. Once your confidence and competence has developed, you can fly solo with the reassurance of assistance at any time.

You will be primarily based at the Bridgend hospital. Branch work would only be carried out once both yourselves and ourselves were happy for this to take place, and this would be alongside a more senior vet.

I must emphasise that we are not looking for an experienced and highly skilled veterinarian, we are looking for someone who is excited to become an experienced and highly skilled veterinarian. And we would be excited to join and support you on that journey.

All that we ask of our staff is that they come to work and leave each day knowing that they have done their absolute best.

Rota

All our full-time veterinary surgeons currently work a 1:9 out of hours rolling rota which includes 1-part weekend and 1 week of nights, with the following week off after nights. The remaining 7 weeks are an average 4-day week, and on call free. There is always an experienced second on call vet to provide backup during your week of nights.

We understand that taking a job which requires working on an out of hours rota can be a daunting proposition, but our excellent nursing staff will help you get settled in and you will find that working out of hours will quickly become routine. You will see cases which rarely come in during normal working hours and we find that veterinary surgeons who work OOH develop confidence and skills far more quickly than those that have not and enjoy their exposure to interesting cases. With the added reassurance, that the second on call vet is always available for advice and aid.

Package

The package includes 28 days holiday per year which is inclusive of bank holidays, option to buy/sell holiday, 2 weeks full sick pay and 4 weeks half sick pay, Royal College fees, a professional subscription of your choice , health shield membership and an out of hours bonus for cases seen.

Salary £35,000. Salary reviews will take place every 6 months for the first two years and then annually.

Leek veterinary clinic is looking for a permanent vet, job share or part time considered

We are an independent, super friendly, small animal only, 2-3 vets surgery in the Staffordshire Market town of Leek at the edge of the beautiful Peak District.

Full time position would be usually 40 hours over 4 days and ideally every second Saturday morning. But we are very flexible with the rota. There is no out of hours.

Salary would be up to 80.000 pro rata depending on experience.

Accomodation is available.

Since July we have employed a locum, who has been very popular. To the extend that we put our search for a permanent vet on hold. Although an excellent vet, he is not keen on abdominal surgery.

Going forward,and longterm, we would like to find a colleague , who can work up his or her own surgical cases.

If you are confident with bitch spays and maybe have some experience with cystotomies and enterotomies for example, we would love to hear from you.

If you have a particular discipline you are interested in, we will support you.

We are a busy practice , and take pride in the service we provide, but also have a very relaxed working environment. We spend a lot of time at work, so it is important to enjoy what we do and have some fun as well.

We consult from 9-10 (followed by ops) and 15.30 - 18.00.

Some might be sole charge (a day a week), so some experience here, together with a friendly manner and good communication skills, will be required.

We employ 4RNV, 2 receptionists and one VCA.

We got the usual toys ( idexx bloods, digital X-ray including dental, ultrasound, multi parameter incl capnography, separate dedicated blood pressure, bronchoscopy)

Our locum is happy to stay on until we have found someone permanent, so we are not in a rush. I hope this shows that we are a great place to work at.

Shires Vets Farm is located in the picturesque Staffordshire market town of Eccleshall and has been part of the local community for over 80 years. Starting with just a couple of visionary veterinarians, the practice has grown to over 20 vets with separate Farm, equine and small animal departments. We are often involved within our local community including sponsoring local events such as the Staffordshire County Show, client and family quiz nights, and the Staffordshire Christmas tractor run.

Here at Shires, we organise regular meetings and discussion groups that are an invaluable tool for both vets and farmers. It allows us to share new ideas and experiences as well as learn about advances within the industry. Throughout the year Shires Vets schedule a range of in-house talks, on-farm walks, and practical workshops including young farmer's talks.

We are a well-established, family-run independent small animal practice, looking for a keen newly qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our lovely team.

You would be working with three experienced vets including a seasoned GDP mentor who has guided two newly qualified vets recently.

We're a team of twelve, including two RVNS, two nursing assistants and a brilliant support crew.

RCVS accredited general practice with an extra award of 'outstanding' in client care. Nurse training practice and GDP practice.

No OOH, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and CPD encouraged.
